We needed to check the box on a few states we haven't explored yet and chose North Dakota and the Badlands of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Flew into Bismark where Lewis & Clark spent their first winter at Fort Mandan. Still evidence of the Missouri river flooding in Bismark, not to mention hotels were scarce due to displaced homeowners from the floods. We enjoyed our quick tour of ND....from the wide open spaces of the farmlands to the interesting geological formations in the park. Box checked!
