Spent last weekend in the Miami area. We started our trip with a bike ride through Key Biscayne with a group of tennis friends, riding through exclusive and quite charming oceanfront neighborhoods. We made our way to Cape Florida State Park and stopped for lunch at a restaurant that overlooked 'No Name Harbour'. From there we pedaled on to the Cape Florida Lighthouse, Crandon Park and finally a visit to the former zoo at Crandon Gardens where peacocks still roam. Afterwards, Paul & I headed off to South Beach for an overnight at a wonderful boutique hotel call the Shore Club. Turned out to be "Sleepless Night' in Miami - an event that takes advantage of daylight savings time to pack in 13 hours of musical, theatrical and dance performances. After a lovely candlelight dinner, we wandered over to Lincoln Road and enjoyed the sights and sounds of the festival. The next day we walked all along the waterfront of South Beach and even spent a little time relaxing on the beach before heading home. A short, albeit sweet, get-a-way!
