Spent a relaxing day aboard the Dizzy Too, a 3370 Pursuit Offshore fishing boat owned by my Ashton neighbor Captain George. It's a beautiful vessel equipped with twin Yamaha 250s and a very nice electronics package. Assisting George on the voyage were two pros, (golf and tennis, that is) Hunter and Denny. Both are experienced 10,000 Islands fishermen. Al, another Ashton neighbor and I ( 2 rooks) rounded out the crew for today's trip to the 'T' Tower. We departed Coon Key Marina and made our way out to Cape Romano and then on to the 'T' Tower, about a 30 mile run offshore in absolutely ideal weather conditions - (well, maybe it was a little toasty out there until a nice breeze popped up around 4 PM). We fished for about 7 hours off the 'T' with minor success, catching a few Mangrove Snappers. We even hooked up with three Goliath Grouper but could not even move them as they broke our lines (or ran into the tower superstructure and cut them). We did see a large sea turtle 2 or 3 times that was lounging near and under our boat. With few bites, Hunter seemed to think the fish were spooked but I knew word had passed quickly in the underworld that the Dizzy Too was on scene - heads up group(er) or you end up on George's dinner plate. In the late afternoon, activity picked up markedly when we landed a Barracuda and then scored a 30 pound Permit which Hunter divided up for each us to take home for dinner. Cap'n George threaded the needle between a few thunderstorms on the way back, picking his way skillfully between cells back to safe landing at Coon Key. All in all, a great day on the Gulf - thank you Cap'n George!

Great day on the water. Thanks Capt. George. A landslide vicory for the "Young Guys" with the 30lb Permit with 30 min. left in the competition. The constant bantering between Young Guy Hunter and Old Guy George kept me laughing all day. The question of the day is "How do I prepare my Permit tonight for dinner?" Denny
